Downsizing Vintage Quilt Collection!!
1. IRISH CHAIN
Today I am posting the first set of quilts from my vintage collection. I don't have a website so I hope this will work to share the photos.
I've enjoyed 'the hunt' over many years--adding to the collection things that just called to me or that were examples of styles I wanted to study and share. But....it's time to downsize. Difficult for me but hopefully an exciting adventure for some of you.
There is a full view of each quilt and close-ups of most. This first batch are all hand quilted.
Email me via this blog for more photos, facts and price and I'll get back to you. You can also message me through my FB page Jean Smith Carlton.
Also, if you know of anyone else that might be interested please share the link to this blog!
Thanks!
The Irish Chain above is c. 1860. Heavily quilted, piped binding, 88 x 88
2, RED AND GREEN Applique - C. 1850
Wondering if the heart motif in the center indicates a possible wedding quilt. It's pretty special
WEAR ON ONE END - See first photo. I put the worn side out of sight. One might want to do some restoration on it....I thought I would, at first, but....you know how things go!
3. TWENTY-FIVE PATCH SOLD!
4. Nifty Nine Patch c. 1900
5. Single Wedding Ring/Crown of Thorns
c. 1900
6. RABBITS PAW - LARGE
8. JACOB'S LADDER
Wonderful quilts! I'll share this on the Florida Quilt Study Facebook site, too.
